"Do not relax your hand from your servants" in Joshua 10:6 is an appeal to Joshua's authority over the Gibeonites.

Authority carries responsibility, including the protection of all those under your authority. The Gibeonites had deceived Joshua, yet he applied all the might of Israel to defending them. Despite Gibeon's treachery, Joshua honored his responsibility as their protector.
