Moses began talking about familial authority relationships by addressing those in national authority. Numbers 30:1

A man should never put his wife or subordinates in a position to have to make decisions for him, especially when those decisions revolve around questions of right and wrong. A moral society starts at the top and it is patriarchal. #matriarchy is a sign of culture in decline. I doubt there's ever been a truly matriarchal society and those that come close don't last long.
