How many parent are raising their children wrong by sparing the rod?

I am not condoling hitting them out of anger, but a process of punishment where they understand what they did wrong, what is expected and then to suffer the spanking to get the words "planted" in their minds and hearts.

It doesn't take much as I can count the number of times I had to spank my children on one hand and the benefits are seen and experience on a daily basis now that they are teenagers.
