And YHWH Elohim commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 2:16-17

God said Adam would die "in the day" he ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, but he lived another 900 years. At the moment Adam sinned, he came under the Law's power to condemn. He was sentenced to death.

THIS is the curse of the Law.
