"After this manner in time past did the holy women, which trusted in God, adorn themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: as Sarah obeyed Abraham, and called him Lord: whose daughters ye are, while ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement."

As part of their punishment, at that time, did Father instruct them to take off their jewellery and put on plain clothes. It was their punishment, but not a standing statute for all generations.
1 Peter3 : 3-4 “Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewellery, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” and 1 Timothy 2:9-10 therefore doesn’t introduce a new law, but describes modesty and internal beauty.
In my view, there is nothing wrong for a woman to dress beautifully, as a well looked after woman portrays her husband’s or father’s care for her. There is however a big difference between a woman constantly dressing like she is going to a modelling competition and want to be alluring to other men and one who dresses smartly for the occasion. It is all about appropriate dress and modesty so that the internal “beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit” will shine more brightly.
