On this date in history, 12/12/1985: Arrow Air Flight 1285, carrying U.S. Army personnel home from Egypt, crashes shortly after takeoff from Gander, Newfoundland, Canada, killing all 248 passengers and 8 crew members. The cause is disputed by Canadian Aviation Safety Board investigators. Some believe it was caused by ice on the wings, others that it was caused by an explosion. #otd #tdih
