Controversial topic for this month's discussion and many do have different opinions on this. I would really like to see what and how people think and react to this. Maybe help me learn more on this subject. But as for now, I believe Paul has changed many of Yeshua's teaching and if you look at many "believers" -- they follow Paul's teachings rather than Yeshua's teachings.

In Matt 5:31 Yeshua says: “It has also been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife is to give her a certificate of divorce’; 32 but I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except on grounds of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who has been divorced commits adultery.
Is Yeshua teaching against the Torah instruction on divorce? If so, then we have to reject all His teachings according to Deut 13.
My personal view is that He is setting a higher bar for His children to strive to. In this example, we shouldn't even have divorce as a "cop out clause" in our minds when entering into marriage. Only when a person sins through immorality then the marriage can be dissolved.
BUT, and this is important, divorce according to Torah in certain instances is still permitted and Yeshua didn't rewrite Torah.
If He did give a new law on divorce, what then is the "new law" around harlotry? Is Hosea then in danger of punishment even if he married a harlot on instruction from Father, if Yeshua has rewritten the Torah?
It is examples like this that make me realize that I can't read any of the New Testament on face value and MUST look at the law for reference.
