Does anyone have any good resources for home schooling? Especially for families that may not have an community.

Time4learning.com (up to 8th grade) is secular, affordable and open scheduled, but kids should know both sides of the evolution/creation arguement to be knowledgable when confronted with societies lies. Rainbow learning is a great, although, expensive source for faith based books. apologia science books are great for high school. there are hard copy science books (building blocks series) online that are creation based for younger children that give an excellent base for launching into the big bang woo woo. There are several free sites for pdfs of textbooks as well. You just have to hunt around. The old "out of date" books are better, but sometimes hard to find teachers editions for. History & math in particular. Liberty university has a k12 program, but it is pricey. There is a k12 online school, but it is an all day scheduled in front of the computer public school. My daughter graduated @ 15. I had to slow her down for high school she excelled at homeschooling so much!

There are youtubers who explain how to teach all subjects from scripture as well, which i partially did as a middle schooler in a non accredited private school. I learned so much!

usedhomeschoolbooks.com and homeschoolclassifieds.com are decent resources if looking for inexpensive books.
amblesideonline.org has some ideas and lists or links to many public domain books.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by not have a community? It is just fine to homeschool by yourself.
If the family is looking for community, facebook or mewe or such sites often have a state group to connect to other local families.
