I don't usual give a commentary for Feast Day comics but something stuck out for this one. There was a recent teaching I watched and when they gave the passage on Day of Atonement, I noticed something I hadn't noticed before. Even reaching out to the teacher they didn't notice it even when they posted the video.
In Leviticus 23:27 it not only tells us to afflict ourselves, but also to present a food offering. I haven't dug into the food offerings yet, but going off of memory, we eat the food offerings. A portion is given to the priests, but the rest is for us.
With this in mind, I wanted to dig around on the words in that verse and see what else relates. The verse in the comic is one of them. The word for afflict in this verse in the Greek Septuagint is usually translated as humble. Humble in this verse is the same Greek word. Just something interesting I wanted to share.
