The social media landscape is evolving rapidly, with platforms facing pressure from various angles. Have you experienced changes on other platforms due to political or financial reasons? If so then please share your insights!

For instance, Gab recently announced a shift towards paid membership, limiting media uploads to subscribers, donors, or verified accounts. At TTN Social, we're committed to preserving free speech and fostering community engagement without such restrictions and want to make more features available for free.

However, sustaining TTN's platforms requires active participation and support from our community. Your contributions—whether through sharing content, inviting others, or financial support—help us expand features and keep our doors open.

I like the idea of the community, but lack the time to engage with comments very much. It would be poor taste to comment only when I disagree with someone 😆 plus it seems a bit rude if I can't commit the time to carry on a conversation.

I don't really use other social media so can't compare, but do think this site is fairly well laid out and have recommended it to others!

I am struggling with time and finances at the moment. However, if I understand the setup correctly, it does appear the bronze level annual memberships are fairly small. Once a year, not monthly. I am hoping to be able to swing something like that in a month or two.

There are a couple I could vote on (lack resources, content engagement), but they don't outweigh each other. I don't mind ads. It's part of the internet. It is when they get excessive that it becomes a problem. Like most recipe and news sites. I understand the need for funds to run a site though. I have been in the same situation for a while now wanting to get a site of my own going for the comics. My current host is totally free, but also on a funding campaign atm. -- I wonder if the shift in Gab (which I've never used) and struggles you are seeing are from the shift in social media in general. It has been shifting away from microblogging over the past several years. The micro-blogs are more Gen X, photo share like IG Millennials, and Gen Z Short-form video like TikTok for their user-base. As the younger generation gravitates toward their preference, the others will follow. Sure, there will always be some that stay, look at message boards like Reddit and chat systems like IRC & Discord - both the social medias of their times (80's & 90's respectively), still tons of those around, but the shift is happening.
