The lame man in Acts 3 had sat outside the Temple day after day, but Peter's faith allowed him to go through the gates, probably for the first time in his life.
What is the purpose of miracles? Is it to glorify God or to make people well? BOTH! God wants his people to be healed and healing them glorifies his name and draws yet more people to him. There is no more glorious testament to God than the grateful servant telling others of the wonderful things he has done. This lame man was healed in a dramatic, public manner, making a great evangelistic opportunity.
On the other hand, if miracles were only intended for evangelism, Yeshua would never have told people to keep quiet about some of them.
