1 Kings 18:17 — 18,  Now it happened when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, “Is this you, you troubler of Israel?”  And he said, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, because you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD and you have followed other gods.” Too often we don’t realize that the prophets of Baal that Elijah confronted were in fact the people of the northern kingdom of Israel who had been separated from our Creator by Ahab. This division continues to show itself even today.
