darkness represents sin and separation... the first sliver of light is the hope we wait for as a sign of the gospel. sliver is the sign.

The reason the darkness cannot be the sign is because it is calculated and is known. Yeshua comes back on the last trumpet on feast of trumpets but... but.... but... no one knows the day or the hour? why dont we know the day or the hour? Here let me explain:
Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets)* Rabbinically called “Rosh Hashana”
Commanded in the Old Testament: Leviticus 23:23-25
Day of Trumpets starts when the first sliver of the new moon is seen with the naked eye on the 7th biblical month, representing the 7th day/millennial rest and reign of Yeshua. As the 6th month’s moon wanes, every duration of a dark moon varies between 1.5 and 2.5 days, depending on its ecliptic latitude, so no one ever knows except the Father in Heaven when the day or hour of the first sliver of the new moon for the 7th month will be visible.
1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
If you know God’s time you won’t be deceived. Matthew 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasonsH4150
1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasonsG2540, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
* ”Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard” Then you won't be surprised…
1 Thessalonians 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
You won’t be in the dark because it is written in the first verse that He doesn't have to tell you because you are already observing the proper times(G2540 καιρός kairos) and seasonsH4150/feasts days. Those that have a relationship with God are children of light that are figuratively and spiritually enlightened and observe/GuardH8104 the 1st month (Aviv) and have synced your calendar for the year so you will know when the 7th month is close, but since the dark moon takes 1.5 to 2.5 days you will not know the day or hour the first sliver appears, but you will know the “Season” (appointed proper time as stated in verse
(1 Thessalonians 5:1) is close, and those that observe the blessings of the feasts won't be in the dark that will see satan “deceive many.”
Exodus 13:10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his seasonH4150 from year to year.
H4150 מועדה מעד מועד
mô‛êd mô‛êd mô‛âdâh mo-ade', mo-ade', mo-aw-daw'
From H3259; properly an appointment, that is, a fixed time or season; specifically a festival; conventionally a year; by implication, an assembly (as convened for a definite purpose); technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting; also a signal (as appointed beforehand): - appointed (sign, time), (place of, solemn) assembly, congregation, (set, solemn) feast
Day of Trumpets is Not fulfilled yet, as it will be observed by Yeshua when He returns on the Last Trump before the generation that sees Israel become a nation passes, the apostles/Church also observed it in the New Testament: Matthew 24:30-31 "And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”
