Is `keeping` the same as `trying to keep`?
Rev 12:17, 14:12 and 22:14 talks of those who keep the commandments of Father. The former two verses also includes having the testimony of Yeshua.
Do you personally think there is a measuring stick involved to determine if someone trying to keep Torah "as they are led" and to the best of their abilities has reached the "acceptable level" to be considered actually "keeping" Torah?
So, is trying and still getting it wrong, enough to be included in this group of people?
Also, are we even capable of keeping Torah 100%? I'm not talking about manmade traditions for Torah, but the version we read and don't truly understand as some of it is hidden.
2,000 years after Yeshua's crucifixion is a long time for knowledge to have disappeared so we assume key points in our implementation of Torah. Like, what is a new moon, should we still sacrifice, should men still gather in Jerusalem, what colour is tekhelet, etc.
It must have been soooo much easier to know what Torah truly is when living during and just after Yeshua's time.
What are your thoughts on this?

Plus even people in Yeshua’s day are thousands of years removed from Moses. I guess having Yeshua there to ask would make it easier though…
I view it as being similar to us saying today that we are “law abiding citizens”. No one really takes that to mean perfect. But everyone can tell the difference between those who are and those who aren’t.

My opinion/conclusion: If I were to leave a note telling my children to clean their rooms and some instructions on how I wanted them to go about it, but then the note was changed into pictures for the little ones who don't read or the words used weren't understood by the reading children, and they cleaned their rooms but not exactly how I had wanted.... They still obeyed; I would still be glad they had tried to please me.
If I wanted to take that story farther I could say that as they grew they understood the words better and got closer and closer to cleaning their rooms in the way I wanted.
Like info_overload, my husband and I had been talking about Daniel in Babylon the other day and how much of the Law could he keep.
I find some people positions eyebrow-raising, but for the most part figure I'll leave that up to the Most High!
But this opinion is why I sometimes don't participate in the discussions, lol It's probably not correct, but I always assume that a person has searched out how he obeys so I've never felt the need to 'correct' someone and am confident enough in my actions to not feel the need to argue about it. Though I do enjoy hearing how others came to their conclusions and re-evaluating every so often because I should be always learning.
