The Problem with Feedback

I was thinking on how I deal with feedback (especially negative feedback) and just had to share my thoughts with someone. ?

- Not all feedback is constructive or helpful. Especially when the feedback is given through anonymity on the internet.
- Some people may offer criticism without good intentions, using phrases like "be blessed" to soften their blows.
- This type of feedback can be damaging and demotivating.

**Discerning Motivation**

- It's essential to understand the motivation behind someone's criticism. Is it to genuinely help, or is it to tear you down?
- If someone is criticizing you, ask yourself: "Do they want me to improve, or do they want to make themselves feel better?"

**The Power of Your Words**

- Your words have power, and using them to cut others down can be damaging.
- Be careful about how you respond to criticism, as your words can sting and cause further harm.

**Misunderstandings and Communication**

- Sometimes people may not express themselves well in words, leading to misunderstandings.
- It's crucial to communicate effectively and try to understand the other person's perspective.

**Receiving Criticism**

- Not everyone will receive criticism kindly. That's okay! You don't have to respond or engage with someone who is trying to tear you down.
- Focus on constructive feedback that can help you improve, and ignore the rest.

Have you found a way or "rule" that you follow to change feedback that might be taken as negative into #constructive feedback?

"It's not what you say, but how you say it..." ?
