I finished drywall for about 3 decades. I would do whole houses myself. I enjoyed that kind of work. Make sure that when you tape the seams you use compound that has glue in it. You want a full weight compound such as USG green lid. Unless the compound has glue in it the repair won't last long. I see you used paper tape which is the correct tape for the butt joints you are covering. Don't use mesh tape on butt joints since mesh is only made for factory seams using USG Durabond. After you have put the tape on you can use a lighter weight compound. I recommend the Midweight USG which has a purple lid.
