What's the point of God calling many people when few are chosen? Is it that He's too selective, or does the choosing depend on how we respond? https://thebarkingfox.com/2025..../02/08/a-kingdom-rsv

nicely thought out.
if i may, two points of interest.
firstly, it's not so much Yeshua was 'doing' like the israelites when they left egypt, it's more that, as the first adam was an imperfect archetype of the 'last Adam', the story of him (1st adam) itself is (imperfect) prophecy,
so the nation israel also serves as an imperfect archetype of Yeshua, and the story of israel, starting from being called out of egypt, is (imperfect) prophecy.
if i can show that in a slightly roundabout way, if one can accept the concept that the crossing of the red sea was a form of the nation's baptism/cleansing, matthew 3:15 shows something
- “Let it be so now,” Yeshua replied. “It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness in this way.” Then John permitted Him. -
when this occurred, the Spirit descended on Him, and He began His walk.
yet, if it had to happen only for that reason, that the Spirit would descend on Him, would it not have made more sense for Yeshua to state that it was necessary for it to happen, rather than fulfilling righteousness?
if one can think He's fulfilling prophecy when He says that, one can look at the nation israel's imperfect path to righteousness being part of that prophecy, including that removal of the unrighteous in the wilderness.
righteousness does start with cleansing first, but would the sinless Messiah have needed that cleansing for Himself?
secondly, yes, much more attention can be paid to those who refused the invitation, to ensure one is not among those.
