When we realize we've been taught egregious errors about the Bible our whole lives, we enter a period where we are skeptical of everything but are also vulnerable to introducing new whopper errors. Folks, if something sounds absurd about the Bible, it probably is.
Understand the challenge of the first century Christians, who came from not knowing bible at all to accepting Yeshua as the Messiah, was a long journey. They repented and accepted Yeshua as the Son of God quickly, for sure, but they didn't know how to live properly for years, having to unlearn their pagan ways while learning the ways of Yahweh as expressed in the Tanakh, the Old Testament.
Today, we need to follow a similar path. Paganism has been meshed with Christianity to a point that its very hard to tell truth from fiction. Sci-fi doctrines have been meshed in through the convenience of the internet as well. Take your time and contemplate things. Don't accept something just because the person teaching it sounds convincing. If it sounds absurd, don't even entertain it. Life is long and the knowledge of God and Yeshua needs to bring peace, not a constant sloshing around of strange doctrines that brings confusion.
