This is one of many reasons I'm happy to have my own chickens. I know that the eggs I eat are not fertilized.

When we lived near to the area you are in now, we tried to get people to raise chickens and grow their own food as a part of our ministry. What generally happened is people got their own food situated, and then treated it like only they mattered as opposed to the wider community or "Messianic Farmer's Market." So, now eggs are a bajillon dollars, and the community that was trying to be planted near your location is no longer there at all.
