I also see the timeline as you put it:
1. We die, and bodies return to dust.
2. Souls “sleep” in Sheol.
3. At resurrection, souls are awakened and given new bodies.
4. Judgment occurs.
5. The rebellious are destroyed—not endlessly tormented.
I have never looked at the snakes and the `Tannin` and `Nachash` subject is very interesting.
The 24 elders is a subject I have never looked into as there is not much said about them, so we can only make assumptions, or we have to go to the extrabiblical texts; which we then have to take on their word or it is no use.
