The word symbol does not appear in the Bible, instead the word used is sign and sometimes signet. A sign can be as miraculous as the way the sun, moon and stars appear in a certain conjuncture or as simple as an altar that is given a name. One thing is certain, there is no symbolism over substance in the Bible, everything has a meaning and a purpose. Exodus 28:36, “You are to make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD.”

Especially when the Name of YHWH is there. It’s not for no meaning and no purpose. Infact it is **the** meaning and **the** purpose.
We should ask what the meaning and purpose was of those who thought it not only okay but necessary to remove YHWH and to replace His Holy Name with a generic feudalistic title of medieval British nobility.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with the title of Lord. But it’s as irrelevant as calling Him CEO or president or prime minister.
What is inherently wrong and greatly evil is replacing the Name of our Heavenly Father with a foreignized anachronistic monicker. And we need to ask ourselves why it would be okay to do so. We need to ask why we should care about the significance of a lesser word like symbol not being in the Bible and culminating our point with the replacement title of Great Britain that is also not in the Bible.
