My daughter and I were talking about various things like language, school dress codes, and eventually came to the topic of cultures with three genders. Then she read something from the Talmud, and I realized Genesis 1:27 was saying Adam was both male and female when first created and placed in Eden. The Talmud says Eve was surgically removed from Adam, who the Talmud describes as having two faces and backs, based on psalm 139:5 with the word normally translated "beseiged/beset" as "formed" instead, which is an appropriate translation for the hebrew, according to strongs.
I dont see Adam as a two headed monster, but what we used to call hermaphrodite, now, intersex. I have known two such people. One, Doug, had parents who did not have surgeries done to force one sex or the other onto "him". The other, Rob, did have such parents and only found out when he decided to have a sex change operation to become female, Cyndie. They both were born with both genitals. Doug even menstruated. Doug did not have breasts. They didnt have two heads and backs. Theyre dna was most likely xxy, which would explain if Adam was the same, how Eve (xx) could be formed from Adam (xxy to xy) by removing a rib (a bone with dna, and if I remember correctly, stem cells in the marrow).
I know my evidence is light, but it is a possibility. We also discussed briefly how only human sapiens sapiens were in the garden, while neanderthals, giganthropithicus, erectus and such were outside the garden. It also made me realize Adam didnt obey the first command given to him until Adam & Eve were kicked out of the garden: be fruitful & multiply & subdue the earth.
