I just realized, laying here in bed, why to ancients made images of monstrousities to worship. They took Yah's law too literally. The prohibition is on things in all of creation, so they probably thought they were smart by making images of unnatural beings.

Doesn't that however assume that everyone knew the law at all periods of time?
That would mean that the Hebrew documents aren't the oldest as we are told it only goes back to Moses around 1200 BC; even though none of that age documents exists.
The cultures with these statues are older than that and used a different language, so for them to have know of the law it would have had to be transmitted in another language to them.
