Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus, greet you.
Romans 16:23 ESV

It’s worth noting how many apparently wealthy people were aiding Paul and the early assemblies. Phoebe, Prisca and Aquila, Jason, Gaius, and Erastus, among others. There are traditions that members of the imperial family aided him while he was under house arrest in Rome.

It’s not a sin to be rich, and nothing in the Bible should be taken to the contrary. All of the patriarchs, David, Solomon, and many godly people throughout the Scriptures had great wealth. The problem is not in the wealth, but in one’s attitude towards it. Do you serve your money? Or do you use the resources that God has given you to serve his purposes?
