The most controversial belief that I hold is being a Biblical Unitarian, also known as a Christian Monotheist. This means that I believe that only Yehovah is the one true God/Elohim that eternally existed. While Yeshua is the Messiah and Son of God/Elohim, he is 100% human being and not God or part of a Godhead.
Some people will object to this and point out bible verses that show Yeshua is God. The problem with this is that there are other bible verses that label other people as "God", yet no one interprets these verses to mean that these other people are literally "God".
Sometimes a person can be labeled "God" in a lesser sense because they are representing Yehovah in some way. In other words, Yehovah will delegate some of His authority to humans and angels doing His will and of high rank. Some examples are prophets, kings, judges and priests. Yehovah says to Moses that he is "as God to Pharaoh" in Exodus 7:1. Satan is called "the god of this world", but no one interprets this to mean that Satan is equal to Yehovah. So when I read verses that indicate that Yeshua is God, I interpret them to mean that Yeshua represented Yehovah and not Yeshua being a literal God/Elohim.

How do you rectify statements by Yeshua claiming He is YHWH? (John 8:58/Ex. 3:14, Rev. 1:8/Rev. 21:6/Rev. 22:13)

1) Mainstream Christians make Yeshua into someone who did away with Yehovah's laws when the prophecies of the Messiah indicate that he would uphold Yehovah's laws.
2) Many Christians believe that Yeshua is literally God. The Jews and Scripture will say that the Messiah is a descendent of King David, of the Tribe of Judah. Yehovah says that there will be a prophet like Moses from among the brethren. In other words, the Messiah cannot be a god or an angel. He has to come from the human race.

but while we continue being able to think we do so, and so 'what' we think changes.
the Word we have received does not clearly define the relationship between the Father and the Son.
which means we think about it.
i do think this is deliberate, and that our Maker wants us to ponder Him.
i can think of no more important topic to ponder.
and what a surprise! i just can't seem to put Him in a box, so that i can turn and say 'here, look, this is our Maker, and this is our Messiah'.
it's exactly all these contradicting verses all over the place that's the problem.
until such time as our understanding of this relationship between the Father and the Son reconciles these 'contradictions', i would say we obviously don't understand it well enough yet.
we may never get to the stage where nothing contradicts anything else anymore, but that's not going to stop me from trying.
i do know that where my thoughts have led me to so far have taken away a lot of contradictions, but still some remain.
now, the important thing is that we turn to the Father and stop our rebellion and give Him the glory.
so if all this thinking on Him remains dry, and doesn't help us to turn and obey and give glory where it's due, we risk being told 'I never knew you. depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.'
it's just that, for me, the more i ponder my Maker, the more it helps me with this.
and my fear is that in sharing my thoughts i somehow cause another to stumble.
isaiah 2:22 should always be kept in mind
- Put no more trust in man,
who has only the breath in his nostrils.
Of what account is he? -
i dread the thought of anyone justifying their thinking with the words 'but henk said...'
put no trust in me.
i share my thoughts with the purpose of getting others to search the scriptures, for it is in the Word that we're to work out our own salvation.
others sharing their thoughts get me searching the scriptures, which never ceases to amaze me with the rich rewards that brings me. i am very appreciative.
having said all that, let me throw in the mix psalm 91:9, and you need to look at the hebrew here, it's one of the worst translated verses around.
in english
- because you Yahweh [who is] my refuge [even] the Most High have made your dwelling place -
never mind Yeshua, what's going on here with YHWH?
(to be fair, there's another thread going on where i should be bringing this up. and i will, but it also has a place here.)

So if we don't...
Ḥazon (Revelation) 5
"And when He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the set-apart ones.
9And they sang a renewed song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and have redeemed us to Elohim by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10and made us sovereigns and priests to our Elohim, and we shall reign upon the earth.”
11And I looked, and I heard the voice of many messengers around the throne, and the living creatures, and the elders. And the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,
12saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and respect and esteem and blessing!”
13And every creature which is in the heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying, “To Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb, be the blessing and the respect and the esteem and the might, forever and ever!”
14And the four living creatures said, “Amĕn!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and bowed before Him who lives forever and ever."

We see that our forefathers usually did not recognize him first, as he appeared as a man. And yet in the conclusion the realised they had seen יהוה himself, as in Shophetim (Judges) 13
"16And the Messenger of יהוה said to Manowaḥ, “Though you detain Me, I do not eat your food. But if you offer an ascending offering, offer it to יהוה.” For Manowaḥ did not know He was a Messenger of יהוה.
17Then Manowaḥ said to the Messenger of יהוה, “What is Your name? When Your words come true, then we shall esteem You.”
18And the Messenger of יהוה said to him, “Why do you ask My name, since it is wondrous?”
19And Manowaḥ took the young goat with the grain offering, and offered it upon the rock to יהוה. And He did wondrously while Manowaḥ and his wife looked on.
20And it came to be, as the flame went up toward the heavens from the slaughter-place, that the Messenger of יהוה went up in the flame of the slaughter-place. And Manowaḥ and his wife were watching, and they fell on their faces to the ground.
21And the Messenger of יהוה did not appear any more to Manowaḥ and his wife. Then Manowaḥ knew that He was a Messenger of יהוה.
22And Manowaḥ said to his wife, “We shall certainly die, because we have seen Elohim!”
23But his wife said to him, “If יהוה had been pleased to put us to death, He would not have accepted an ascending offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all this, nor would He have let us hear the like of this!”

I don't see any records from history of witnesses seeing the diciples write the bible in greek or deliver it in greek, but history does record witnesses who received the Syriac aramaic peshitta new covenant from the diciples. In the bible written by the disciples, yeshua made it very clear that he is the i am I am יהוה, and even the greek text says that yeshua is one with the father and if you have seen yeshua you have seen the father. People need to stop trying to make yah into the image they have of his kadosh likeness they have in their minds, and just realize that yah is beyond us (kadosh) and our understanding. We are commanded not to lean on our own undeestanding proverbs 3:5, and not to think matthew 5:17, 10:34. Job thought about arguing with yah and making a case, but when the kadosh yah spoke to job, yah did not explain himself or his reasons why, yah just told job how powerful yah is demonstrating his almighty kadosh ness, and that was more than enough for job. No explenation was required. So when we see yeshua seated on the throne and every knee bows, I don't think anyone will be concerned about his echad onwness as the i am i am. If you lean not on your own mind understanding, and just acknowledge him as the i am i am, then he will direct you in all your ways. I don't know what yah will do or how he will do it. My situation looks hopeless, but in the past I faced giants and yah delivered me from them by his own power and might. So I have seen it and I can not doubt him, no matter what my mind or heart says or thinks. Yah is who he says he is and he always does what he says he will do.

After yeshua hamashiach rescued me and told me that I must obey all the instructions in the Bible, I was still thinking that he came to abolish the law, even though he showed me in isaiah 33:22 and Matthew 4:4 that he did not.
So when two diffrent strangers (witnesses) confirmed the message yeshua told me, I had to stop thinking about paul, his writings, and the way I was taught to interpret the new covenant bible.
I knew that yeshua had struck my enemies down before my face, and fought the State of Washington, and told me I have to obey all the instructions in the Bible, but I realized that I did not know what to do with my understanding I was taught for 30 years. So I had to stop thinking about the lies I had inherited, and instead read all the instructions in the Bible, write them down, learn them, and do them.
So if your understanding does not agree with what yeshua said he is, then get rid of your understanding, and acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will direct your path. https://youtu.be/rFUyOvbwga4

“And I shall pour on the house of Dawiḏ and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim a spirit of favour and prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son. And they shall be in bitterness over Him as a bitterness over the first-born."
