You are probably familiar with the words: “Baruch Atah Adonay” – which is usually translated to as: “Blessed are You YHVH”. But why are you blessing YHVH? He is Perfect and He does not need our blessing, so why are we blessing Him? The truth is that we are translating it wrong! The Hebrew word Baruch which is usually translated to blessed roots from the Biblical Hebrew word bricha which means a source of water. And water is always correlated to blessing. So truly, the word “Baruch” -- roots from the Hebrew word “source of blessing”. When we say “Baruch, Blessed are You YHVH”, what we are truly saying is “Source of all blessing are You YHVH”. Even deeper, the Zohar tells us that the word “Baruch” roots actually from the Hebrew word “hamavarich” which means to bring down. Thus, when we are saying the Hebrew word Baruch which we translate to blessed, we are actually saying: “Source of All Blessing” and we are bringing down that Source of All Blessing, the Elohiym of all Life to our lives every time we are saying this verse. So, whenever you say the Hebrew words “Baruch Atah Adonay” – instead of translating it to Blessed are You YHVH, -- start thinking and focusing on the fact that you are bringing down the Source of All Blessing, YHVH Himself, into your presence.
