(appropriately after hearing the discussion over nostrils vs mouth, what!?), who i'm hearing for the first time,
makes me think of isaiah 2 very much.
- 22Put no more trust in man,
who has only the breath in his nostrils.
Of what account is he? -
come on, he's making his living out of this.
i've seen others holding him high, why? people.
if you wonder (readers that is, not you specifically hein)
why i say that it is because he has placed his own thoughts into what is not said in gen ch 1.
let me show you.
- 24And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, land crawlers, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. -
note, yes, God spoke. but verse 25 says 'God MADE'
then,
- 26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.” -
so God SAID, He SPOKE, let Us MAKE man.
and then chapter two goes into the forming of man.
specifically this time. but to say this was not the case with the other creatures in chapter one is to put things in which were not talked about.
in fact, chapter one treats the making of both creatures and the creature man in the same way, the distinction being it is man who is made in image.
he may, he may not continue in his talk to address the apparent 'inconsistency' of the order of creation between the two chapters, but i'm not too interested in listening to a man earning his living.
he is either not reading carefully or picking and choosing what to read.
apologies caleb for using the three letter word, my focus is elsewhere.
eliyahu is welcome to enter into discussion with me, for i am being slightly unfair in being critical of someone who is not here to answer, my focus currently is on the correctness of things said.
and yes, paul was right, a messenger may survive of his message, but paul didn't, and i trust him the more for it.
