What name do you call yourself when someone asks what faith you follow? Or what denomination you are part of?

Some say "Messianic". Others say "Hebrew Roots". Others say "Torah follower in Yeshua". And there are other terms.

What term do you use?

I say Sabbath keeping Christian or Christian Israelite. LoL sometimes I just say I follow the Way.

I use the term "Hebrew Roots" to identify my faith. But I understand why some people have a problem with that term. There are different variations of beliefs in the Hebrew Roots movement and some people may think that I endorse strange teaching that I actually don't follow.

I used to be part of a Messianic Jewish ministry and have called myself a "Messianic". Some like that term because it sounds less cultic than Hebrew Roots. The only problem I have with it that some people might confuse me with following Messianic Judaism which includes man-made Jewish traditions and Rabbinic writings such as the Talmud. I may follow some traditions, but I don't hold those traditions above Torah.

I like starting discussions, so I have different approaches dependent on the person's own background.

When I want to start a conversation with someone that is non religious then I would say that I am a "Bible following non religious Christian". Many questions then follow.

To modern Christians I say that I am a "Torah following Christian, like Jesus". More questions will then follow.

To my brothers and sisters I simply say that I am a "Torah observant follower of Yeshua." No questions then follow. ?

Oh, this is a tricky one. I'm finding myself just saying "Christian" more and more. Why? Well, I think that the foremost thing they should know about me is that I follow Yeshua. Doesn't take long before they realize that I'm a different kind of Christian when the inevitably discussion of Sabbath and Feasts comes up. LOL

I say I am a follower of Yeshua... if they are more curious, I can go deeper into what that means for me... someone who believe the Front of the Holy Book is as relevant today as the Back of the Holy Book. Yeshua is my Savior... Whatever He does, I do...He kept the law, healed the sick, ministered to people, cast out demons, taught, etc.. So those are my goals and desires for how I live.

Natzarene, or Follower of The Way, or follower of the ancient path of the hebrews.. sometimes i say i follow the belief Abraham used to follow before religions existed, or follower of Torah and Messiah.. im not sure whats the best answer, i guess it might also depend on the people we meet.
