How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
Hebrews 9:14
Death seems to be the source of all uncleanness. Dead bodies and dead works both defile a person.
Sacrifice and washing can temporarily remove the uncleanness of contact with physical death, but only the sacrifice and washing of Yeshua can permanently remove the uncleanness of rebellion against God's Law which brings eternal death.

MARY ANOINTS YESHUA
From Matthew 26:1-19; Mark 14:1-16; Luke 22:1-13
When Yeshua had finished His long talk with His disciples on the Mount of Olives, He spoke with them concerning His crucifixion, which would come two days later. [Two days from now, during the Passover, I will be delivered up to be crucified,] Yeshua told them. While Yeshua spoke these words, the chief priests and rulers of the people were gathered in the court of Caiaphas, the high priest, to plot how they might arrest Yeshua and kill Him. But they had agreed that this would not be done during the Passover festival, for they were afraid it would start a riot among the people. That night Yeshua was a dinner guest at the home of Simon the leper, who lived in Bethany. While Yeshua was eating, Mary of Bethany poured an alabaster jar of precious ointment upon Yeshua’ head. Some of the disciples grumbled about this. [This ointment could have been sold for three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor,] they said. [Stop bothering her,] Yeshua replied. [She has done something wonderful for Me. You will always have poor people with you, and you may do good things for them, but you will not always have Me with you. She has anointed My body for burial. This story will be told wherever the Gospel is preached throughout the whole world, presented as a memorial to her.] Meanwhile, Satan entered into the heart of Judas Iscariot that night, and even though he had followed Yeshua as one of The Twelve, he went to the chief priests and officers to discuss how he might betray Yeshua into their hands. They were delighted that he had come and gave him thirty pieces of silver. From that time on, Judas looked for an opportune time to deliver Yeshua to them, away from the crowds. Two days later, on the day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed, Yeshua talked with His disciples about their Passover meal. [Where should we prepare this meal?] the disciples asked. Yeshua then sent Peter and John to make the preparations. [When you enter Jerusalem, you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him home and tell the owner of the house, ‘The Master requests the guest room so that He may eat the Passover with His disciples.’ Prepare the meal in the large, furnished, upper room which he shows you.] Peter and John left and found everything to be exactly as Yeshua had told them, so they prepared the Passover meal.
COMMENTARY
WOMEN WHO FOLLOWED YESHUA
Not all of the women who followed Yeshua actually travelled with Him on His preaching tours. Although Mary Magdalene and Mary, His mother, often accompanied Him, there were many others who could not leave their homes and families. Mary and Martha, sisters of Lazarus, never joined Yeshua on His journeys, yet they were among His most devoted friends. They always welcomed Him as an honoured guest in their home whenever He passed through their village. There were many women in the early church who were also followers of Yeshua although they never met Him during His life on earth. Lydia, the woman from Thyatira, set an example for many generations of believers by her faith in Him Whom she had never seen.
For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh...
Hebrews 9:13
There are different kinds of righteousness, holiness, purity, clean, unclean, etc., and different processes for achieving each. The existence of one doesn't negate others, but it's important not to get them confused. There was never an animal sacrifice that can eternally remove the guilt of sin from your soul.
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:32
Keep Torah for the sake of him who gave it to us. He loves us and wants to see us succeed as his children and citizens of his Kingdom. Torah is a blessing and a guide to those who keep it out of love for our Creator and Redeemer.
