Please keep my wife and I in prayer we have been going through much trial and affliction and have gotten exhausted of being harshly judged by others for what we have been through....We've learned to stay silent through suffering. Praise Yahh through all things even excruciating circumstances that bring real ones together...the pains been deep the level of understanding has become deeper. Rejoice through sufferings. Yahusha was homeless too.

Are you looking for a way to make Torah real, exciting, and understandable for your young children? My First Torah will help you present Torah to your children on their level. For each Torah portion I have written a beginner reader level version. The first five books of the Bible make up the foundation for everything else we find in the Scriptures. My desire in writing this book is to give your child an opportunity to read the Torah portion each week in words that they can read and understand. Then your new reader can read Torah all by themselves.

Many parts of Torah can be more difficult to understand, let alone explain to children. I hope I have simplified that process for you. The tricky parts are still in there, but handled in a delicate, minimalist way to make them accessible for children. The Torah presents some tricky topics, such as circumcision. But we are instructed to read the Torah to even the nursing infant. So I have chosen to include these topics where they appear. However, I have used a minimalist approach to allow you, as the parent, the freedom to teach more in depth as you see fit. You know your child best of all.

You can use My First Torah as a great way to include Torah in your school day. It can be used as a Torah beginning to the day. It can be used as a beginning reader. It also lends well to copywork. Our children have also read the Torah portion out loud on Shabbat, from My First Torah.

I have chosen to refer to our Heavenly Father and Creator in a couple different ways. Sometimes I use Elohim, which means “Supreme Being.” We often find the personal name of our Creator in the text. Out of respect for anyone using this book, I have chosen to use YHVH. This is the English transliteration of the consonants we see in the Hebrew language. There is much debate over the proper pronunciation, or whether to pronounce the name. I wish to recognize that He has a personal name, but give your family the freedom to teach your children about His name as you see fit.

My First Torah is an 8×10 full color paperback or hardcover book with 27 hand drawn illustrations. It makes a great family read, because of the ease of understanding.

"And all the king’s servants that were at the king’s gate, bowed their knees, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him: but Mordecai bowed not the knee, neither did reverence."

I used the transliterated Hebrew name for this Holy Day, Yom Teruah, because I wanted to talk about the word "teruah" as part of this. If you have seen my previous comics on Yom Teruah but haven't looked into the word you might have been confused. In our English Bibles this is translated as "the Day of Trumpets". However, when we look at the Hebrew word and its root, this doesn't necessarily mean a trumpet blast, but shouting. We do see instances of shouting going along side trumpets, such as Jericho. I am not saying "trumpets" is an incorrect translation, but I think it is not painting the full picture.

This Holy Day is commanded to rest and shout. There is a call for a "convocation", as some of the previously spoken about Holy Days. I neglected to go into the details of this word in those posts. The most common understanding of this word is to gather as an assembly. You will notice that most of our family observances are gathering with others. However, when looking at the Hebrew word and its root, this is a reading or calling out. I see this as possibly a command to get into the Word on these Holy Days, but we do still follow the traditional interpretation of gathering.

Prophetically, we see in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 a shout and a trump for the resurrection of the believers. This could be pointing to this Holy Day as timing for that event.

Our family's observance is gathering with others, sharing a meal and going outside to shout and blow horns (usually shofars).

It's crazy and I never thought I would be one to talk about this stuff --- especially in public --- but I do think it's one of those concepts we need to think about, pray about, and ask YHWH for truth about. Because I think it's definitely a possible door for deception.

Sometimes we all know how YHVH says we should live and how we should act to those around us, but getting a reminder can help if we're tired or overwhelmed. Reading His Torah daily is an excellent way to be reminded of how kind and good He is! https://archive.aweber.com/awlist6425868/60Lz.
