It’s easy in Christianity for us to be told all that “mumbo jumbo” is outdated antiquated irrelevant issues of the Old Covenant. Easy to say it’s all done away, rolled up and nailed to the cross, rolled away with the grave stone, and we don’t need it any more. All that has-been junk is a burden and harsh and cruel legalism and judaizing if attempted. All we need now is believe a bit of info in our hearts and minds and affirm it with our mouths. Nothing else.
But YHWH never authorized any of that madness.
He never moved aside His judgments and ordinances in order to make a new way that leads in a different direction than before. He never said we should sit there and feel a certain way about our personal salvation or that we should speak a few magic words like a stage magician saying “abracadabra” and “tahdah”.
He did however order that we DO His judgements and KEEP His ordinances and that we WALK therein. Not sit there and think on high matters. Not feel good about our place in eternity not yet promised. Not pondering on the denizens of our hearts and heads.
He told us to move in The Way.
…And then He put His Name on it.

2Jn 1:9-11 BSB 9 Anyone who runs ahead without remaining in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever remains in His teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you but does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home or even greet him. 11 Whoever greets such a person shares in his evil deeds.
This could be a Mormon missionary, Jehovah's Witness, or even the local Baptist preacher. We know they don't know the truth, so we are not even to acknowledge them.
1Jn 4:1-3 BSB 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and which is already in the world at this time.
Test everything!
1Jn 2:1-7 BSB 1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4 If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: 6 Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. 7 Beloved, I am not writing to you a new commandment, but an old one, which you have had from the beginning. This commandment is the message you have heard.
