In #genesis 26:2-5, God personally passed the blessing of Abraham to Isaac, rather than to Esau. Once again, the older is made to serve the younger. This is another important pattern that appears repeatedly in Scripture. It's important.
God promised Abraham and Isaac the Land and a multitude of descendants, yet each remained a wanderer with only one faithful son all his life. God knows the right time for everything.

I know I usually do a As The Torah Scrolls comic today, but while reading the chapter I got to this verse and wanted to talk about it. I grew up with the notion that Moses' name was Egyptian, because he was given his name from an Egyptian princess.
However, reading this story, especially this verse and looking at the Hebrew, I am not convinced of that any longer. First, he is named in the same manner as most of the people we read stories on in Genesis. Something happens, baby is born, baby is named after whatever happened. The end of Genesis 29 with Leah and her children is a great example of this.
The second item goes along with the first, but looking at the Hebrew, just like in these other cases there is a word used in the reasoning, the something that happened, that the name is very similar to. In this case what we translate as "drew out". The word uses the same letters as the name of Moses.
Just something interesting.
