Trusting in a treacherous man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.
Proverbs 25:19 ESV

An unfaithful helper is like a tool that lulls you into complacency by working flawlessly right up until the most critical moment and then it malfunctions and destroys all that you had accomplished.

Isa 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, c son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations.

2Pe 1:19 We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.

Rev 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.”

These are all from the Berean Study Bible.

Can someone explain to me why Scripture appears to call Satan and Yeshua the same nickname?

This verse has given rise to a cult that believes that Satan and Yeshua are one and the same as they are both called "morning star" in separate parts of the Bible.

Two thoughts however come to mind when I read that verse:

1. Job 38:7 says:

When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

There might be a link between angels and what we call starts as I don't know whether the actual stars resonate and make a sound or whether the stars are angels as Father has given each star a name...

2. The writer might be using hyperbole in that verse. It is like calling someone "superman" when they are actually not that super... ?

Before Abram became known as Abraham, we read this. Genesis 15:6, “Abram believed the Lord. And the Lord accepted Abram’s faith, and that faith made him right with God.” As Abraham continued to be obedient his faith strengthened, he had an incredible understanding of what it is to trust our Creator completely.

Ovadyah ben Yisrael

“And he believed in YHWH, and He reckoned it to him for righteousness” (tzedakah - צְדָקָֽה).
This begs the question: what exactly, according to scriptural definition in its entire context, is “righteousness” (tzedakah - צְדָקָֽה)?
If we wish to be like Avram in his faith and belief, we should know this, not guess at it or take our definition from English dictionaries or the teachers of some other religions. Let’s learn.

Thought for Today: Sunday June 30

Friend, no-one else has been gifted exactly like you. There is a place in YHVH's Kingdom that is yours alone. No one else has your talents, your abilities and your set of strengths to bring to that place. God designed you for it... you are a perfect fit.
