It matters little how long a tradition has existed if it has never been forced to defend itself. And just as much so, it matters not how lost a doctrine has been allowed to become, if it is an original one.

Proponents of the present practice will always try to twist an obedient people into defending their dogged devotion to doing what is written in the Scriptures. But we must take care to never fall for that madness.

We are not the ones who need to give an account of ourselves, if we do what is written on the page. And to begin to defend ourselves for following the King’s orders, will only yield the high ground to an inferior foe.

The error of the established order is so intrenched they believe themselves instituted by Divinity Authority. The system is so cemented-in because they stole the power and then slaughtered all who dared disagree. Century after century their syncretism went unchallenged, and now they believe their longevity lends them credibility.

But the truth however is that they simply held sway so long because they held imperium. They held the
populous in a choke hold. But no more. Now we call people back to the Book.

And when called to defend our position we must not give in. It is a mind trap and a distraction.

All who follow faithfully what is writ in Scripture must when faced with this fool’s gambit turn the challenge back again and demand that those holding the errant position (no matter how long it has been the dominant position) must first prove their aberrant belief.

Remember the burden of proof is not on you, if you are doing what the Bible says in its context without the voice of the preacher from the pulpit telling you to distrust what you read for yourself and whispering twisted interpretations in your ear.

Very good point as it always feels like I have to defend my position rather the other way round. ?
