{My thoughts on a shallow list of things attributed to being a "deep thinker".}
"You might be a deep thinker if..."
-"you are highly intelligent"
Not typically. Math, memory, and puzzle-solving skills have little correlation with deep thought. The crucial factor of deep thought is integrity.
-"Deep thinkers always leave space for doubt."
False. There are things we cannot be unsure of, and things we should not be unsure of, just as there are things we cannot be sure of.
-"you love the fact that reading gives you the opportunity to escape the boring reality."
This is shallow (as least as described). A deep thinker can have interest in, gain insight from, and learn from whatever surroundings in which he finds himself, he understands that they do not constitute all of reality, and he loves reading because it expands these surroundings.
-"You keep your mind open"
It depends on what is meant. Often what people mean by this is the idea that "anything could be true", similar to doubting everything, which is false.
Something one could say instead is that a deep thinker has the integrity not to defend an idea by hiding it from scrutiny or discussion. This does not mean that he has any obligation to listen to or respond to every challenge that may be brought.
-"Deep thinkers often feel like they don’t belong anywhere and don’t fit in with other human beings."
It is true: "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" - Am 3
However: "When a man's ways please Yahweh, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." - Pr 16
I have been able to "fit in" even with Baptists and Catholics, though fundamentally divergent from their thinking.
-"hate small talk"
This is a preference, not a sign of deep thought. A deep thinker often recognises the profound roots and implications of small talk.
-"You feel repulsed by popular culture"
The current mainstream English-speaking culture has twisted values, but it is shallow to apply this right judgement as a fundamental concept. A deep thinker is free from cultural prejudice, free from the complete acceptance or rejection of only the system he is immediately surrounded with, and is an appreciative and reasonable judge of all cultures in all times and places.
-"You often find yourself disconnected from reality and lost in thought"
To be deep in thought is not to be lost, much less to be disconnected from reality. It is merely to be disconnected from one's immediate surroundings (it is shallow to think of one's immediate surroundings as constituting reality).
-"don’t care about other people’s opinions"
Deep thinkers take responsibility for their own conclusions, and so value others' opinions more than those who blindly follow others' opinions without considering or judging their value at all. It seems to shallow people that deep thinkers don't care, because shallow people make agreement and disagreement primarily about themselves and their own feelings; they put themselves before truth.

Thought for Today: Sunday September 17:
It is not the work we do that is important, it is the people we work with. It is the work that YHVH does in our lives through them. And it is the work He does in their lives through us. That is what is sacred. Slowing down and stopping is our way of acknowledge it.

Abba, I am Your child. Yeshua is that if I pray to You in secret, You will reward me openly. Abba, I desire with all my heart to walk in love, but I am ever sabotaging my own efforts and failing in my relationships. I know that without faith, it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to You. I am coming near to You, believing that You exist and that You are the Rewarder of those who earnestly, and diligently seek You. Uncover me and bring everything to light. When anything is exposed and reproved by the Light, it is made visible and clear, and where everything is visible and clear, there is Light. Heal the past wounds and hurts that have controlled my behaviour and my speech. Teach me to guard my heart with diligence, for out of it flows the very issues of life. Teach me to speak the truth in love in my home, on social media, with my friends and in all my relationships. Also help me realise that others have a right to express themselves. Help me to make room for their ideas and their opinions even when they are different than mine. Words are powerful. The power of a life and death is in the tongue and You said that I would eat the fruit of it. Abba, I realised that words can be creative or destructive. A word out of my mouth may seem no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything -- or destroy it! A careless or wrongly placed word out of my mouth can set off a forest fire. By my speech I can ruin the world, turn harmony into chaos, throw mud on a reputation, sent a whole world up in smoke, and go up in that smoke with it -- smoke right from the pit of hell! And that is scary! Abba, forgive me for speaking curses. I react out of the past hurts and unresolved anger. At times, I am dogmatic, even boasting that I am wise; sometimes unknowingly I have twisted the truth to make myself sound wise, at times, I have tried to look better than others, or to get the better of another; my words have contributed to things falling apart. My human anger is misdirected and works unrighteousness. Abba, forgive me. I cannot change myself, but I am willing to change and walk in the wisdom that is from above. Abba, I submit to that wisdom from above that begins with a holy life and is characterised by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings; not different day by day and not two-faced. Use me as Your instrument to develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with You. I will enjoy its results only if I do the hard work of getting along with others, treating them with dignity and honour. With the help of Ruach HaKodesh and by Your Grace, I will not let any unwholesome talk come out of my mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my psalm to You, my King. My tongue is like a pen of a ready writer. Mercy and kindness shut out all hatred and selfishness, and truth shuts out all deliberate hypocrisy or falsehood. I speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for the right things. My mouth shall utter truth and wrongdoing is detestable and loathsome to my lips. All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them. My tongue is as choice silver and my lips feed and guide many. I open my mouth in skilful and godly wisdom and my tongue is law of kindness. Abba, thank You for loving me unconditionally. I thank You for sending Your Son Yeshua, to be my Adonai and Saviour and for giving me Your Ruach Kodesh to teach me and to bring all things to my remembrance. I am an overcomer by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. In the Name of Yeshua I pray, amen.

The week that ended with #yom Teruah, the Feast of #trumpets started with a politician have made porn with her husband, then moved to another politician being accused of adultery with yet another politician, and ended with a politician being disgraceful and lewd in public.
"Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

What’s the Difference Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Teruah (Continued)
Living a Biblically-Inspired Lifestyle
Well, with all this in mind, what do we do as people who are seeking to live a Biblical lifestyle while remaining sensitive to Jewish traditions and culture?
Here are some tips:
1. Spend some time on Yom Teruah praying and preparing your heart for the days of awe and Yom Kippur to come.
2. Give some kind of offering to the Lord on Yom Teruah. It can be anything – finances, time, or maybe something creative like a poem or song!
3. If you can’t blow a shofar as commanded in Torah, become your own “trumpet”! Lift your voice and shout praises to God!
4. Enjoy the traditional Jewish festivities surrounding Rosh Hashanah with your Jewish friends and families.
5. Plan your own “Biblical New Year” party for the following Spring!
As you continue to live out God’s Word through His Biblical Feasts, keep ONE focus through it all – keep your eyes on GOD, the King of the Universe, and He will direct your steps.
