For God shows no partiality.
Romans 2:11 ESV
This is only talking about God's judgment regarding sin and his mercy regarding forgiveness. God very definitely shows partiality in appointing individuals and nations to specific roles within his plan.
What does it mean to "hear from God"? Is it just something people make up to sound holy, or to keep others from questioning them? If people really do hear from God, how does it happen, and for what purpose?

Solomon writing about wisdom in Proverbs 2:4—5, “if you seek it like silver and search it out like hidden treasure, then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God.” Our Creator will give wisdom to those who search for it and to those He chooses for HIs purpose.
