Hard Question:

What do you think of a now pastor that was once a pedophile?

A- Should he never become a pastor?
B- He might be reformed?

Most importantly, is this person EVER worthy of baptizing other's?

A. They tend to become pastors to prey on others easier because people believe they are reformed. I speak from multiple experiences with pedos in my life.

There is a distinction between a molester and a pedophile. The words are not interchangeable.

A molester abuses a child, possibly only one. It is not necessarily a pattern, nor is the person driven by a desire for children.

A pedophile is driven by a lust for having sex with children and is driven to actively pursue it. A pedophile usually has many victims.

Psychologically speaking, a molester can be reformed, but a pedophile, no. Pedophiles are on record confirming this.

Having said that, I see sexual abuse, whether a pedophile or a molester, as a theft of the child's innocence. Also, since the child is basically trapped with no options, they are (in a sense) kidnapped. The Bible designates kidnapping as a capital offense. Exo 21.

Should such a person be a pastor? I would say not. The fact they are still alive is gift enough. But putting them into leadership, to me, sends a wrong message. The crime is so light it can be forgiven to the degree of becoming a leader? We have to be serious on these crimes, not light. The person should be executed, or at least jailed.

The other concerning thing is whether this man told or was told on. If it is only coming out because of the victim, hmmm. On the other hand, is there proof? We must not condemn someone without proof.

Update. The snow is MUCH deeper than i thought. I just went ount to the weather meter because the annometer froze up again. The snow was above my muck boots in most places, unless sheltered. I face planted in a drift because i couldnt lift my feet high enough. Im not hurt...it was a soft landing. Just very winded. Be careful out there! I hear people shoveling and such while the snow is still falling. People in good condition can have heart attacks shoveling light snow. Guard your back muscles, too! Be blessed and stay inside!

It appears we got another 6" overnight. Its still coming down strong. We are ready to stay in for the next few days. I may have to brave the bitter cold next week for an appt, but we have everything we need. I hope everyone is able to stay in and out of the cold! It hasnt been that cold for 10 years here, before we moved to this apt. The wind is just staring to blow the falling snow, so maybe we'll get white out pix today or tonight for you.
