HOW DID WE AS A PEOPLE GO FROM THIS…
U.S. Supreme Court stated in the 1892 case of Church of the Holy Trinity versus United States, written by Justice David Josiah Brewer (143 U.S. 457-458, 465-471, 36 L ed 226):
"This is a religious people. This is historically true. From the discovery of this continent to the present hour, there is a single voice making this affirmation ..."

The Supreme Court continued: "The commission to Christopher Columbus ... - recited - ... that 'it is hoped that by God's assistance some of the continents and islands in the ocean will be discovered' ...

... The first colonial grant made to Sir Walter Raleigh in 1584 ... and the grant authorizing him to enact statutes for the government of the proposed colony provided 'that they be not against the true Christian faith' ...

... The fundamental orders of Connecticut, under which a provisional government was instituted in 1638-1639, commence with this declaration:'... And well knowing where a people are gathered together the word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union ... there should be an orderly and decent government established according to God ... to maintain and preserve the liberty and purity of the gospel of our Lord Jesus which we now profess ... of the said gospel is now practiced amongst us.'

AND BECOME THIS…
Connecticut Woman Becomes Vermont’s First Nonresident to Undergo Medically Assisted Suicide
January 4, 2024
A women from Connecticut became the first nonresident in Vermont to end her life via medically assisted suicide on Thursday. Lynda Bluestein, 76, traveled to the Green Mountain State on Wednesday in preparation for her planned death. The woman’s son, Jake Shannon, told News 12 Connecticut Bluestein would die by lethal injection.
“I’d like to be remembered as someone who never thought that second best was even in the realm of possibility, who always believed that you can make everything better,” the woman said, condemning her home state as “cruel” for not offering medically assisted suicide. “Our state has failed my family and many others,” she said of Connecticut. “Who can take a calendar and say, ‘That’s the day I’m going to die?’ I was astonished on how cruel that felt.”

Even when you just look back 40 years then it is astounding how the entire world's moral standards have fallen as they move away from the Bible. Every decade gets humanity in a far worse spot as we don't raise our children to be God-fearing.

Stephen preaches truth and Torah right up to his time of execution, at which he models Yeshua by asking the Father to forgive his persecutors.

You can know your life is a complete mess and you can believe it is a disaster but unless you live in the moment and repent your life won’t change.

There has been some good discussions around this month's topic:

-- Should we accept all of Paul's teachings? --

The month is coming to a close with the new moon sighting scheduled in Jerusalem on this coming Friday, 12 January. (Please see the Events calendar and join us on Friday if you are available.)

My thinking is that it is a good time to have a discussion on "How to determine 1 Abib" as this then sets the calendar for the feast dates.

Please indicate your preferance below by voting now.

yes, let's do it
no, I have a more urgent topic to discuss (please leave your topic in the comments section below)

So, was voicing my concern, wrote about a paragraph with still more to say. Stopped and realized that could be my talking point and went ahead and voted yes. If I could have it on record it was a reluctant yes

Absolutely yes! Most people are stuck in their traditions and don’t care for the facts. It’s like dusting off your feet and moving onto the next subject, though this subject isn’t a human.

Community building

Where are you in your thinking about building or joining an off-grid Torah community?

Not planning to ever join a community
I have already joined a community
I am looking to join a community
I am already off-grid and happy with my setup
I am already off-grid and looking for others to join
Not actively looking, but probably will be in the future

Family goals ??? Father willing of course! He brought us across the country to our farm, with no idea of why he placed us here - just for my husband to get an apprenticeship with a local contractor for obtaining his carpentry license. Yah is so good!!

Actually i did try to start a Torah group and a small Sabbat service but unfortunately the place i was using is currently unavailable to our small group, i still have a large tent on our property that we have been using but of course the weather has made it difficult to be very useful at this time. So we are looking for a group to go to in our area, but hard to find. There is one other I happen to know about but we will not attend that group for many reasons that i will not go into here.

Discussion Subject for this month:
--- Should we accept all of Paul's teachings? ---

The Apostle Paul's writings have been misunderstood by many people. It has gotten to the point that misunderstandings of Paul's writings seem to overrule the direct teachings of Yeshua and the Torah. I believe that that the Apostle Paul was a true follower of Yeshua. But I understand why some people don't recognize him because of the damage misunderstandings of his writings have caused.

We also have to distinguish between Yah's instruction through Paul and Paul's opinions. It is best that doctrine not be based solely on what Paul said, but on a combination of what Paul said and other Scripture, especially from Torah.

Yes, it is very important to understand that Paul also gave his own opinions mixed in with his teachings and that is where many people have issue with him. Rather than taking it as his opinion, they believe that he is teaching against Torah, which he couldn't/wouldn't do as a trained Pharisee.

Always compare what he says to what Yeshua said.
