Ecclesiastes 9:14-18. Life saving wisdom is despised if the one with the knowledge is poor. Gotta get a tv show and expensive clothes and stuff to get people to listen.

Jacob knew Laban's reputation, so he was very explicit in his negotiation terms: "Rachel, your younger daughter." Good plan, but it didn't help. God had another plan in mind. See #genesis 29:18.

Was Leah meant to marry Esau? Some believe so because of the symmetry of events in the story: Jacob lied to Isaac in order to ensure he received Esau's blessing, so God arranged for Laban to lie to Jacob to ensure he received Esau's bride too. Leah and Rachel had to know what was going on, but they didn't tell Jacob. They were complicit in Laban's nuptial switcheroo.

Yeshua compared his own ministry to that of Jacob's.

The Gates of Heaven opened for both men. Heaven and Earth were shaken to their core by the lives of both men.

Through Jacob and his wives, the nation of Israel was established. Through Yeshua and his disciples, the Kingdom of God is established.

#searchandrescuue Did Search & Rescue training 3 days ago with a wonderful brother in Yeshua, Marty (also an ex-Marine and and he used to be a missionary). He has a very pretty puppy.
