Everything which relate to YHVH is infinite. We must therefore, while we keep our hearts humble, keep our aims high. Our highest service is indeed but finite, imperfect. But as YHVH is unlimited in goodness, He should have our unlimited love.

Are premium Bibles worth it?

Are premium Bibles worth it?

Some Bibles cost a lot of money. Some cost over $100, $200 and even $300.

I bought the Halleluyah Scriptures Complete Edition which, with shipping included, cost about $400 U.S. dollars. It came with 84 books including the Apocrypha and a few other extra-biblical books in addition to the OT and NT. It comes with two reference books built in called Name Meanings and Torah of YHWH. It is large print and leather bound. I think it is worth the high price because of the great deal of quality in designing it.

What is your opinion? Are premium Bibles worth it or are they a waste of money?

Before I give my opinion, I have a question: Do these premium versions tell you more of the origins of the Bible and their writers or does it only retranslate the existing text?

The reason I ask is that if we start from a common point then we assume that that starting point is the correct point to start from. Is it however a truthful investigation to do that or should we also investigate the validity of the starting point?

If it is purely a retranslation then it is again just someone's opinion or understanding of a word and it can be "bent" to say whatever the author wants to say.

Let's take the virgin birth which originates from the Greek Septuagint and isn't in the Masseteric text. Why keep that piece of the Greek translation and then reject the 'The Idol of Bell and the dragon" in Daniel which is also in the Septuagint? Isn't that playing fast and loose with the Bible to make is say what we want it to say?

Personally, I would say that it’s not worth the high price. When I ordered the HalleluYAH Scriptures I got a leather bound version and it is pretty nice. I bought a separate copy of the apocrypha from them which oddly isn’t even nicer book and I got those other two you mentioned thrown in for free for a total of about 150 bucks. Or thereabouts it’s been a few years. Definitely not 400 though. So I have the same information for less than half the price and decent quality as well.

According to the Halleluyah Scriptures team, my purchase pays for one standard Bible each, for about 20 families who cannot afford a bible.

They also say that believers can donate over time for the Complete Edition if they are unable to pay it all at once.
