After Lot's wife died because she longed to return to the filth of Sodom, he lapsed into foolishness again when his daughters got him too drunk to see straight (Gen 19). Contrast this with what Abraham did after Sarah died. He gave strict instructions to Eliezer to find the right kind of wife for Isaac and to avoid the wrong kind of wife at all costs. Both men became the fathers of nations, but the name of one is reviled by nearly everyone, while the name of the other is honored by billions.

Reflecting on the outcomes of the midterm elections got me to thinking. How much does Yah consider the affairs of man? Was He invested in the outcome of any particular race? Obviously He is almighty and can use righteous leaders as well as unrighteous, but I'm curious to hear your opinions on whether the Father micromanages who sits in a State Assembly seat, or always allows the will of men to prevail by way of voting.
SMALL STRAWS by MARSHA BURNS:
Leave the troubles of the past behind. There is nothing you can do about what has happened, but there is plenty you can do with what is ahead. Set your heart and mind to do all that I have for you. Settle yourself to move with the flow of My Spirit. I have gone before you to prepare the way.
Isaiah 40:4-5 Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.?

Psalm 3;7, “Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.” Asking the Creator to hit someone might seem harsh, but if loosing a few teeth (because of an extreme divine intervention) causes someone to repent — is that too drastic to keep someone from a lake of fire?
Thought for Today: Thursday November 10:
May you become powerful in YHVH as you wait for a breakthrough. In this [not yet] season, may you learn the secret of abiding in Him. May you send your roots down into His marvellous Love, and instinctively trust that He has your absolute best in mind. May you be so acquainted with His Word and His Presence that you – right here, right now – plant seeds of faith for a future harvest. Instead of angst over your [not yet], may you embrace awe for reality of your faith, the substance of His Promises, and the surety that any day now you will have your breakthrough through Him.
Abraham bargained with God to save the region of Sodom and Gomorrah, but he humbly acquiesced to God's will in the end. On the other hand, Lot pleaded to save the residents of a single town, but he did it through guile and false humility. Lot was a righteous man in comparison to his contemporaries, but he should have spent more time with Abraham and less in futile attempts to save the Sodomites.
