Israel didn't last 2 months after God first spoke the Ten Commandments from Sinai before falling away into idolatry. Why is anyone surprised the early Christians followed their pattern? If the early church fathers had NOT fallen away from #Yeshua's words, we should all be truly surprised.
But God knew exactly what Israel (and you and I) would do before He chose them, and he chose them anyway.
Deuteronomy 9:12-13

Deuteronomy 9:12-13
YHWH gave me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them were all the words that YHWH had spoken with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly.
Deuteronomy 9:10
This sounds like every word God spoke on Sinai was written on the stone tablets. Does this mean only the Ten Commandments or all of #torah? It's hard to say. In Scripture, phrases like "all of the" frequently refer to a set or category of things and not necessarily to every single member of the set. It's more like saying "all of those" in English.
What exactly does it mean to have a "circumcised heart" and how do you accomplish that?
