The seven lamps of the Menorah are an image of seven spirits of God. Revelation 1:4 & 5:6, Exodus 2:16

The Menorah only gives light to the front. Why not behind it? It gives light to the Priest, petitioner, Table, and Altar of Incense. Where does the Menorah *not* shine? First, behind and away from the presence of God. Second, the Holy of Holies. Recall that "God dwells in deep darkness."
