“Accept these from them, that they may be used in the service of the tent of meeting, and give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service.”
Numbers 7:5
God gives you what you need to perform your duties in the Kingdom, but not necessarily more than that. If he does reward you with more, be sure to channel some of it right back into the Kingdom.
“Accept these from them, that they may be used in the service of the tent of meeting, and give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service.”
Numbers 7:5
The offerings of the tribal chiefs were immediately after the fiery deaths of Nadab and Abihu who were killed for offering unauthorized incense. Everyone must have been very careful in how they approached God and made offerings that day, and God had to explicitly order Moses to accept the gifts.
The offerings of the tribal chiefs in Numbers 7 reveals something of how they viewed themselves and their roles.
1) They cooperated. They all brought identical offerings.
2) They were united. The offerings were organized so that no one could approach alone.
3) They were peers. Nobody brought more or less than another, despite having very different population sizes.
4) They were submitted to God's will. They didn't try to dictate how their offerings would be used.
