MikeL Iain Mcclain_wilhelm Melket Näher My two cents (or shekels) on the "Trinity" or "Is Yeshua God" question:

If you dislike the word "Trinity" feel free to not use it. It's not a word found in Scripture. But if you then come to the conclusion that Yeshua was "just a man", then you have a problem. "Just a man" can't accomplish what Yeshua did. Full stop. I don't profess to understand Yahuwah in all His power and greatness, but if as Yeshua said:

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
(Joh 8:58 KJV)

Then Yeshua is not "just a man" there's not a man alive throughout all of history that could have made this statement other than Yeshua.
We know from Scripture that Yahuwah exists, we know that His Son exists, and we've seen the spirit of Yahuwah mentioned throughout Scripture Old and New Testaments. As it is written:

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these THREE ARE ONE" (emphasis added)
(1Jn 5:7 KJV)

We know that Yeshua is referred to in Scripture as "the Word". As it is written:

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
(Joh 1:14 KJV)

Scripture teaches that Yeshua is "the Word". And that "Word" was with God, and that "Word" WAS God. As it is written:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
(Joh 1:1-3 KJV)

Again I confess, I don't know how this all works together, or how to put my tiny bitty brain around the self existing God of the universe.
But I think it's self evident and putting it mildly to say that Yeshua is divine in nature. Don't get tripped up with Christianese words and throw out the profound power of the Mashiach and His relationship with Yahuwah. They exist, but They are One. And I'm willing to accept that until the day when I can inquire of Yeshua face to face.

Shalom, the word trinity was introduced by Tertullian in the 3rd century and adopted by the Council of Nicea and made official but truth is Yeshua had laid foundation for all before Tertullian , also through His first 12 students from the house of Israel. Yes He is more than a man but trinity is a wrong way of understanding Yah.

David Martin Hi David! The first thing that caught my eye was your quoting 1 JN 5:6-8 from the KJV, otherwise known in scholarly circles as the "Comma Johanneum". This version has been determined to be false...the reason why modern Bible versions no longer use it. The correction in modern Bibles now reads (verse 7): "The Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. Long story short, this is an event where the the Catholic Church got caught with their pants down. But. it's a story that doesn't end there.Charles Chipere [thought you might be interested]. Although, during the Catholic council where the Trinity DOGMA was adopted, the Catholics claimed that they were not being influence by outside philosophies... THEY WERE! and I can see that they were more likely influenced by Popular culture (Greek Trigonometry was all the rage) but primarily the Prevalence of Pagan Triune God which spread through the WORLD when Go broke-up the tower of Babel (Nimrod, Semiramis and her Son Tamuz (the Same 'Tamuz' the Jews have on their calendar - they brought it with them from Babylon. So the problem with Catholic Theology is that Satan has used this 'church' to carry out his main objective; as I have said before, "to confuse the true identity of God". This theology is prevalent today and dominates 'Christendom' even today. When you say, "I don't profess to understand Yahuwah in all His power and greatness, you are also speaking under Catholic influence... "God is a MYSTERY we can never comprehend and if one tried to comprehend him he would loose his mind. There are other groups in error being totally outside Catholic teaching. For example, those who believe Yeshua did not exist prior to his physical birth. These often believe that Yeshua was just a human - born as we are, which is false. As far as John 1:1, You are correct in what you say. See my post on it in TTN group: https://www.thetorahnetwork.co....m/Notrinity_or_trini Iain Mcclain_wilhelm Melket Näher

I have posted the answer to the "Is Jesus God" question and the poll is showing only 50% of you got it right. Frankly, the answer I give is irrefutable (go to Ian's page Iain Mcclain_wilhelm Melket Näher ) and see why. Got it wrong? Don't feel bad. Most all people truly do not understand, even those who answer the question correctly.

I've had a question going through my head today. Does Paul ever claim his Epistles are scripture? I have a friend who has been challenging my stance on the Torah by suggesting I read Galatians 5 and other Pauline Epistles. I told him I listen to God's word and not the words of other men, to which he replied and asked me if I thought Paul's letters were part of the scripture and if they were inspired by God. Then I had to consider and think what did Paul say? Did he ever claim his words were scripture? Did he ever claim them as inspired? Did he say anything like this? The only thing I can think of, is when he talks of something in Corinthians and he says to note that what he said were the words of christ. I also had to think of 2nd Timothy 3:15 and 16 that says all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for a proof, for rebuke, for instruction in righteousness.. I honestly do not think that we can place any writings above the Torah. Where we place other writings in relation to other parts of God's word can make a tremendous difference on what we believe.

Personally, I consider Paul to be Divine commentary. Paul was given the unenviable task of teaching the returning diaspora how to walk out the Torah in a goddess worshipping pagan Greco-Roman culture. As we were warned by Peter, Paul was twisted by unstable and untaught 'teachers.'. Bottom line, when i'm not sure about Paul, I go with Torah while seeking to understand him through that lens. The more I dig, the more I find him lining up with Torah, but really explaining what that walk should look like in the diaspora away from the Temple.

That said, I **much** prefer spending time in the Torah and the prophets, quite the opposite of my days as an ordained pastor... ?

Acts 21:17-26 provides proof against the claim that Paul was anti-Torah. Paul says in the latter half of 1 Cor. 7:40, "and I think also that I have the Spirit of Elohim." Check out the Strong's definition for "echo", the Greek word for "have" in this verse: https://www.blueletterbible.or....g/lexicon/g2192/kjv/

MikeL I know some Russian and am learning more. I literally havehundreds of Russian and Ukrainian friends. My voice teacher and favorite musician is a ukrainian. I am learning to love the culture as it is just different but very similar to what I grew up with in alaska. I will be praying for sure! I am also regularly updated by my friends, and even get news straight from Russia and Ukraine because I can understand russian. Fyi, Russian and Ukrainian are different but many ukrainians in the eastern part of Ukraine speak Russian fluently as well as ukrainian.

Why are there no calls to pray for Russia? As set-apart people, we shouldn't be parroting the 'Russia attacked Ukraine' narrative but, actually praying for and supporting ALL people and spreading the TRUTH about the NATO and US cause of this situation.
