We are The VanderLaan's.
This is our family account created to connect and fellowship with other Torah observant Families.
This is a co-account as both myself (Nick) and my wife of 14 years Jackie will be posting and communicating from this account.
We have 6 children (ages 12, 10, 9, 7, 4, and our most recent 2 year old was born here on the Island of Cyprus in January 2020.
We are originally from California and spent 6 years living in Nevada before we left the United States in September 2017 on what was supposed to be a 3-week European vacation that has turned out to be a 4 year sojourney. We have never been in bondage to a home mortgage or owned a home so it made it easier to leave.
We spent most of the first 2 years of our sojourney in Israel and Jerusalem and Cyprus and the last 2 years straight we have lived on the Island of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean (they speak a lot of English here, about 60% of business signs are in English and all road signs are in English and there is a large Ex-Pat population from England living here since England colonized the Island after WWI and they still have 3 active military bases here on the island).
Jackie has homeschooled the children their entire lives and Nick runs a non-monetized Youtube channel (I do not ask for nor accept monetary gifts rather my work is free).
We came out of non-denominational christianity in 2010.
We have never celebrated Christmas our entire marriage.
Rather we have celebrated Passover our entire marriage.
We started observing the Sabbath sometime in 2012.
Our kids have never watched a single Disney movie or show and our kids don't watch movies or tv or cartoons, they watch educational content.
Our family doesn't listen to any secular music.
We maintain a healthy diet (no overly processed foods) or sugar drinks and when we do eat flesh (which is scarcely) we only eat flesh that has been boiled in accordance with the Covenant of Noah.
We are into bible prophecy and enjoy celebrating the Sabbath and all the Feasts of YHWH!
We look forward to connecting and fellowshipping with other families!

Our Heavenly Father and Great I Am, we are joyful in You and as You give us life we are thankful for every split second in a day. We pray that You refresh us and renew our spirit in gladness. String our hearts as instruments of joy and fill us this day with a new song. As we sing to Your glory fill our lips and words declaring Your goodness. Even when we are overwhelmed by despair and difficulties, guide us toward Your light and be our refuge. Please remove all plagues and viruses from our midst and surround us with Your devine protection. Please bring Your peace in our homes. We place all anxieties and worries at Your feet in the faith that You gave us each challenge so that we may overcome.Thank You for all of Your blessings in our life. Thank You for surrounding us with wonderful parents, children, grandchildren, friends, and all our family members. Thank You for healing power and the love through Yeshua HaMashiach. Thank You for giving us the promise of eternity and everlasting life.
Let Thy Kingdom come and will be done on earth as in heaven. Bless us this day with our daily bread and forgive us our sins and trespasses. We Glorify Your Name forever and ever. Amein

Part 2 --- IN HEAVEN --- Authority
It is impossible to pray without knowing YHVH’s authority. Heaven speaks of YHVH’s authority. In prayer we recognize YHVH’s authority over us, acknowledging He is our Elohim, He is above us, He has authority over me. Because He is in heaven, our fellowship with Him is Spirit led. As we come to Him prayer, we acknowledges our dependence upon Him to intervene and answer our prayers. Not only do we find authority, but also dominion. We know He is our Master, our authority. His is the Glory and the Dominion. It is impossible to pray to a god in whom we do not believe -- and believe that YHVH is all powerful, we must recognize His authority and dominion over us in order to prayer effectively and in faith.
Thought for Today: Sunday November 28:
Trust YHVH by relinquishing control into His Hands. Let go and recognise that He is YHVH Elohim. This is His world; He made it and He control it. Yours is a responsive part in the litany of Love. He search among His children for receptivity to Him. Guard well this gift that He has planted in your heart. Nurture it with the Light of His Presence. When you bring Him prayer requests, lay out your concerns before Him. Speak to Him Candidly; pour out your heart. Then thank Him for the answers that He has set into motion long before you can discern results. When your requests come to mind again, continue to thank Him for the answers that are on the way. If you keep on stating your concerns to Him, you will live in a state of tension. When you thank Him for how He is answering your prayers, your mind set becomes much more positive. Thankful prayers keep your focus on His Presence and His Promises.
