The obedience of one man means more to God than the disapproval of ten thousand. In every age, God's chosen men have defied their culture's expectations, preferring to be called eccentric, insane, even monstrous, rather than betray their faith in God.

When Abraham brought Isaac to the mountain to sacrifice him, he told Isaac that "God will provide a lamb for himself". Abraham obeyed God in every respect, trusting that somehow he would preserve Isaac through death so that his promise of many descendants would still be kept. Isaac was bound and ready to die when the Angel told Abraham to stop. God did provide an animal in place of Isaac, but it was a ram and not a lamb.
The implication is that God would one day provide another lamb who would die as a substitute for all those whom God counts as children of Abraham, if we have enough faith to trust God no matter what happens.

We received the call that Myra’s father has passed from this world. His life on this earth may be over but his memory lives on, we appreciate the prayers for his comfort. He surprised many doctors living an additional five years past the time they had anticipated. His faith in our Creator was always his source for hope, peace and comfort.
