Please keep Nick Liebenberg in your prayers as he is being taken to intensive care. I pray that Father will show him His plan through all he is going through and that if it is His will that Nick will be miraculously healed. ?

I am stuck in Isaiah 65 again and need some assistance in understanding. ?

v17 talks about the new heaven and the new earth and then in v20 it says:

No longer shall there be in it an infant who lives only a few days,
Or an old man who does not finish his days;
For the youth who dies at the age of a hundred,
And the one who does not reach the age of a hundred
Will be thought of as accursed.

My understanding is that according to Rev 20, that death and hades has been thrown into the lake of fire at this point in time. So, why does death get mentioned again on the new earth in Isaiah 20?

Also, would this be considered the "3rd death" as Rev 20:14-15 tells us what the second death is:

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the lake of fire.

If this is a "3rd death" then what happens to the person or is this a case of Biblical "reincarnation" and a person just comes back to the new earth to start the cycle all over as there is no more death?

Please do let me know how you understand this concept of death in the new earth.

Have I actually found a contradition in Scripture that no one can help me with? Yes, this is a real question.

I was raised that there are no contradictions and if there are then it is either my understanding or the translation that is wrong.

So, if I have found a real contradition that can't be explained, after many years of study, then it makes me wonder whether there are any other.

I do think this time is referring to the millennial reign of Yeshua and leading up to the time of final judgement. Continuing on into ch. 66, it is discussing that time. I think the reference to the new heaven and earth is sort of mixed in with this millennial time (which I believe happens before we actually have a new heaven and new earth) and it's all collectively referring to "the time after this present age".

One of the threads of Truth that runs through Torah portions #vayera and #chayeisarah concerns the limits of the power of righteous people to change the world.

Abraham was God's friend, but he couldn't save Sodom. Lot was a righteous man, but he lost his family in trying to save that wicked city.

In order to preserve and cement God's promise, Abraham had to be willing to give it all up. In the end, he had to be content with the sun setting on his and Sarah's time in the world and its rising on Isaac's and Rebekah's.

The greatest men and women of God were also the humblest. They did what they could and they moved on, trusting in YHWH to complete the work he started.

Mockers respond to wisdom with mockery. The wicked respond to righteousness with wickedness. "Garbage in, garbage out" isn't always true. With people, the machinery in the middle is much more significant than what goes into it.

Consider Mark 15:11. Whatever you might accidentally ingest by eating with unwashed hands won't harm you spiritually, but no matter what goes into you, no matter how good or bad, if your heart is defiled, it will only produce more defilement.
