“Then the kingdom of the heavens shall be compared to ten maidens who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five foolish. Those who were foolish, having taken their lamps, took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their containers with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom took time, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard, ‘See, the bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him!’ Then all those maidens rose up and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, indeed, there would not be enough for us and you. Instead, go to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut. And later the other maidens also came, saying, ‘Master, Master, open up for us!’ But he answering, said, ‘Amein, I say to you, I do not know you.’
Watch therefore, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Adam is coming.”
This parable and all of Matthew 25 are, and always have been, about Yom Kippur. The “ten maidens” are the 10 days. The “oil” is the righteous works and faith each person had in their lifetime. At the end of the Temple service on Yom Kippur in scriptural times, its gate was slowly, and meaningfully, shut.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens. Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and done many mighty works in Your Name?’ And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’”
Are you awake? I mean REALLY AWAKE? Are you prepared? Are you ready for the coming of your King?
“Slumberer! Do not soundly sleep now! Abandon your tiredness. Distance yourself from the sinful ways of people and behold the ways of your lofty One. Hasten to worship the Rock who preceded all, as the illuminating stars hasten.
It is enough for you; why do you soundly sleep? Arise and call to your Elohym!”
We may never get satisfactory answers about why bad things happen to good people, and why good things happen to bad people. That doesn't mean we should walk away from God and blame Him for every injustice. What it does mean is that we should keep on asking God the hard questions, just as Barry Phillips and David Jones do in this conversation recorded in the spring of 2019. It just might be that the answers God gives call for a change of perspective to make sense out of perplexing situations and figure out what to do next.

If you go into your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you wish, but you shall not put any in your bag.

There is a consistent difference made between harvesting and eating off the vine in #torah. For example, in shemitah years, you are allowed to pick and eat what you need for the day, but not to harvest in bulk for storage or for commercial purposes. Remember that as you read the stories of Yeshua and his disciples in the Gospels.
You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.
#deuteronomy 23:19 #torah
The dollar, the Federal Reserve, the banking industry...the entire American economy is based on sin. It doesn't matter how efficient or effective a system is, if it's based on sin, it's wrong. I'm not talking about free enterprise, but about unjust weights and measures, usury, property taxes, etc.
You shall not give up to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you. He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him.
#deuteronomy 23:15-16 #kitetzei
The United States was a great nation, but it was never perfect. For example, the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 violated both the Law of God and American ideals. There is a way to do #slavery that does not violate God's Law, but it's rare. Most slavery around the world (and it still goes on today on all continents!) is totally contrary to #torah.
