On the basis of Abraham's faith and character, God made a covenant with him and promised to preserve his descendants forever. All of Scripture emphasizes his great character, even calling him the Friend of God! The story of Abraham entertaining three men in #genesis 18:1-8 reveals five important characteristics that God values in his people.

Please pray that Yah will grant me a meainingful job soon. I had to quit my previous job because being there caused bed bugs to appear in my apartment. No job is worth it if it causes things like that. Thank you.

A while back, there was a discussion between a few of us. I can't find it to refresh my memory on the whole context, but it was something to do with the day Yeshua was resurrected. I quoted a verse that included "first of the weeks" yes, "s" included. I dont remember the semantics point I believe Chris Deweese was trying to make out of it, but I found another place it is used for the dsy of pentecost:

Joh 20:19 LSV It being, therefore, evening, on that day, the first day of the weeks, and the doors having been shut where the disciples were assembled through fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and says to them, “Peace to you”;

If someone could direct me to the conversation, I'd like to review it. Thank you!

I don't know how to find the thread, either. The framework fits well when we look at the moedim as prophetical days. He's crucified on Pesach, resurrected on the first of the weeks, ascends 40 days into the count, sends the Ruach on Shavuot.

Paul alludes to the day of His resurrection as well:

But the fact is, Messiah has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. (1Co 15:2

It makes sense that the first fruits of the dead would be resurrected on the day of first fruits, which is also known as the first of the weeks.

The bible chronicles is a continuous, cohesive message about God's relationship with mankind. We're going through the Torah portions this year and associating them with relevant New Testament passages. This week is the foundation for John 3:16.

In the midst of our busy daily lives, does it ever occur to us that God intends for us to be His agents of change? This is a matter of prayer and action: without the action, the prayer may go unanswered; and without the prayer, the action may go astray.
