In #romans 1:1 Paul said that he was commissioned to preach the Gospel of God, but what exactly is the "Gospel"? Don't just assume you know what it means. Verse 2 points us in the right direction: It was promised beforehand through the Prophets of the Old Testament.

In Genesis 32:22-23, Jacob escorted his family across the Jabbok river in small groups and then returned by himself, possibly just to make sure nothing had been left behind. The Jabbok river isn't deep, but the banks are steep and the terrain rugged.

Sand of the sea and stars of the sky... These phrases aren't meant to be literal. The point is that the descendants of Abraham, through Isaac and Jacob, will become a great multitude.
Therefore let us not judge one another from now on, but rather decide this—not to put a stumbling block or a trap in the way of a brother.

In any matter on which the Scriptures are ambiguous or silent, Yeshua's people must give one another grace to come to differing conclusions, even if it means following different religious practices. Whenever possible and when there is reasonable room for interpretation, for the sake of unity, peace, and a consistent public face, a congregation should agree on practices that affect everyone.
