When Laban finally understood that his daughters had become Hebrews, he began to treat them as foreigners. Later (v28) he gave up trying to assimilate Jacob and tried to claim the children instead.
Rachel and Leah are like gentiles grafted into Israel. We have lost the corrupt, transient inheritance of our fathers, but we have gained an eternal inheritance in the Messiah and King of Israel. Good bye, Laban, and good riddance. Don't let him claim your children!
